Remove the rocker arms for those two cylinders, the oil fill cap and the intake tube. Then run compressed air into those two cylinders through your compression gauge one at a time. Now listen at the intake, exhaust and oil fill hole. If large amounts of air comes out the tail pipe, it's a bent exhaust valve, if out the intake it's an intake valve, if out the oil cap it's piston/rings.

How are you balancing your time between the two projects, Andrew? This is a nice score. I'd by an Andrew car for sure, despite mileage!

I'm guessing he got another project today -I don't see it listed on CL anymore.

Nope didn't get that Regal. Too hard to come up with that much cash when you are 200 miles away from your bank. Otherwise I would have another 99 Regal GS.

How's this one coming? Any further info on the engine situation?

I actually vaccumed out the crap in it today. The carpet is a 100% loss. Its hard as a rock from salt damage. I do have replacements in the garage though.
Then I took it to the carwash, yes it does drive, but barely, missing like terrible. However, it does clean up nicely. Didn't take any pics though.
I'm pretty sure I'm not going to go the "fix this engine" route anymore. The engine is starting to knock. I'd rather just put a known good engine in it than do all the work and have a huge disappointment.

how is the tranny, maybe I should throw my engine in it.

Only had it up to 15mph, but it has a newer tranny in it with 90k on it, so I would assume as is well.

It's never a good idea to throw in two new pistons with new rings (you would have to buy new rings) in an engine, with the other 4 being old. Rings wear to their cylinder, and you should never put rings from another engine in yours. It also puts more stress on those throws on the crank vs. the others, and you would have to hone/deglaze the cylinders anyways. You're much better off with a new engine/short/longblock.

i love that color

.. i would say she's worth the flip, the body seems to be in real nice shape, i think that the paint would really pop with a good wash and wax. good luck with it, i enjoy reading about all these haro flips,

Still looking for an engine, but haven't really found anything to my liking yet. I'm in no rush, waiting for the right deal.
Got sick of looking at the gross wheels. Cleaned em up good and proper.
Wheels off for better access.

Cleaned up real nice.
So you like that style better than the swoops?

I change my mind every other day, but most of the time I like the bent spokes better. Don't you remember that I have the bent spokes on now already? I would be basically switching tires if I did switch. Pirelli PZero Nero's for the General Altimax HP's

Clean wheels are nice.
If I don't have time to wash the entire car, I clean the wheels. It makes a big difference..

Looks really good man. I just bought a set of those tires and have been really happy. Solid choice.

What's your method? I wash mine with dish soap and car shampoo, then use a powerball mini and chrome polish. Looks nice, but not perfect. Did you hand polish them?
