If Money Was No Object...

Post by razr89a »

If money was no object what customizations would you do to your bonneville...? Right now.
-I would do a complete overhaul under my hood - meaning making it a fast mother - twin turbo
-put racing bumpers on - would that look good?
-get multi colored neons for everything instead of green neons - wheel well, under, interior, trunk.
-chrome it all up, black chrome for rims and for the trim instead of that cheap chrome.
-clear corner my car
-put a hood scoop and vents - functional
-get a true twin dual exhaust - Y instead of T
....ummm idk if there's anything more...

New rims and an L67 with some go fast mods.

I like my car a lot as is.

Oh maybe the charcoal interior instead of the 'natural' color one.

FWI, headers, 3.4, tuned w/ no KR
GM rebuilt trans w/ shift kit and trans cooler
Bridgestone Potenzas (the ones that come on the G8..."RE" something..)
Some nice chrome tips
Repainted hood and fuel door bubble repair (done right)

That's all it would take to make me completely happy with my car.

Well i'd have to find it, buy it back.

Supsension suspension suspension.

Get the crosslaces polished up, and blackened.

LS4 from a GP + turbo....

= teh win.

On the GTI? A few carbon fibre bits like a CF rear splitter, CF front splitter, have some of the plastic rockers painted black, k04 turbo, full exhaust setup, complete coil-over setup Big brake kit...

I've been thinking about this one for a while...

Strip off that ugly, chipped paint, and paint it a dark gunmetal gray...

Change the whole interior to black. Dye the headliner, replace the carpet, replace the seats with black leather Grand Prix seats. Impala SS Interior swap.
Pioneer AVIC-F900BT
Infinity Kappa Components
2 12" Kicker L7s
Kicker amps
13" big brake kit w/ powerslots and ceramic pads
1.5" drop, adjustable Koni shocks...

and I've saved the best for last...
4.2 Stroker Kit, forged pistons/rods
Modified L26 UIM, shorter runners
Stage 3 Cam/Heads package
NOx 150 shot
Electric waterpump
Underdrive pulley
Fully rebuilt transmission w/ necessary modifications...
High stall tq converter
SLP Headers
2.5" Downpipe w/ highflow cat, exhaust cutout
SLP exhaust

I think that's it... I've been doing a lot of daydreaming

The ideas so far are awesome. No one mentioned a rear wheel drive conversion? AWD?

Hold Alt and type in your numpad 0149 for the •

94 SSEi
Interior
• It's $600 (real quote) to get it re-upholstered locally with thicker leather but stock-looking. So tempting...
• I'd redo the turn signal handle to be softer than the hard click it has now.
• Built-in massaging, heating, and cooling for every seat, even the middle one in the back.
• Heated and cooled steering wheel.
• All electronic seats, even the middle one in the back.
• 2000 Bonneville steering wheel (haro's that's still by my sofa!) with telescoping movement added.
• Top-of-the-line carputer with an OLED that is shaped to fit inside my dashboard and show a computer screen that can tell me any info I need. No A pillar pods, no other pods, nothing else needed!
• I'd make the OLED dashboard a touchscreen and let it be my lock, window, climate control, radio, and GPS interface as well. The dash would be expanded to reach all the way down to the current HVAC and radio controls.
• Larger rearview mirrors, truly heated.
• Pioneed ODR sound system with about 20 speakers or so.
• Unlimited bandwidth wireless net access and all the equipment to make my car a mobile WiFi hot spot.

Exterior
• I don't know what designates a paint as "Candy" like Candy Red or so, but it looks good. With each coat sanded with about 2500 grit, I'd have my car repainted in its original shade of green, but with "candy."
• HID front lights, black background.
• Peterg22000's tail lights.
• A light tint on all new windows, and plexiglass instead of glass.
• Everything I could get made out of carbon fiber, but of course painted to look "normal."
• The lightest wheels I could find at about 17" for the fronts and 18" in the back.
• 340 tires in the back to handle all the love.
• Two-door conversion by way of having larger front doors and an extended rear quarter panel section but with the interior left as is.
• Convertible conversion with all the necessary modifications, whatever they may be, to handle the torque of the listed items below.

Engine, transmission, exhaust, and so on.
(perhaps taken from petraman)
• RWD conversion with chassis mods to make even BMW M series & Mercedes Benz S class engineers cry
• I don't care how... I want dual L67s for a W12!
• A 4.11 FDR for whichever way is used to put power to the rear wheels.
• 4.2 Stroker Kit <<per Series II engine>> (Add the preceding bracketed text to the lines below as needed)
• Forged pistons/rods
• 3.3L supercharger with a carb-style through-the-hood throttle body/intake
• Stage 4 Cam
• Stage 4 Heads
• The greatest ratio rockers that could fit.
• Electric waterpump
• Alternator overdrive pulley on a 200 amp alternator
• Another alternator added somewhere in the engine bay.
• SLP Headers
• Dual 3" downpipes w/ Mag high flow cats and Borla mufflers
• Corvette exhaust tips for 10 more HP!

99 SLE
• SSE conversion.
• Total repaint and reupholstering to return it to "stock."
• A few months at Lotus for a suspension redesign.

STS - V engine swap
Fender rust repair
GM diamond white paint from 2004 (best of the best IMO)
18"s seen on the Razzi outfitted Aurora (Razzi doesn't even know what rims they are  )

For the GTP....

GXP rims
05 CompG badges
Overkill PCM
SD hood
Overkill CAI
Magnaflow cat back

Then I'd be happy.

If money was no object, I would be able to take off work to do all this right??

Appearance:
First things first. No rust.
Shave everything and do the 5 Series headlights agian. But this time, mod the 92-95 SLE bumpers and get 96-99 SE sideskirts. CF hood and trunk with a duck bill spoiler. All painted black. The wheels I'm already having done and put on those new OEM SSE tails I have tucked away.
Handling:
Static 3" drop on F41 spec springs and some adjustable shocks/struts. Adco rear sway and FE2 front. Shortened endlinks.
Brakes:
98+ F-body fronts and some rear discs. 2 piece rotors.
Interior:
Catskinz.. All black.
Engine:
I don't even want to get into it. Plenty of things that haven't been done before and hopefully will happen. All n/a, high reving, 250+whp, reliable, and decent mpgs.
And plenty of AN stainless braided line, polished parts, a few anodized things, a few powdercoated things, tucked harness, etc, etc.
Trans: Agian, too much..

I'd like to see 95naSTA win a ~$100K lottery. I remember the Bondoville from BC, and it's really cool. He really knows what he's doing. We can all dream about performance and style, but he had it actually going for some time.

ZR1 engine and drivetrain swap. Gotta keep it supercharged.

The L67 and tranny would go into my first car, 85 Buick Somerset. I'd have the rust fixed and do a T-Type trim swap.
