MWBF; June 12-14 2009!!

Post by 00Beast »

Ok, this is the official thread for 2009 MWBF. Tenative plan is for the weekend of June 12-14.

I think camping will be at Flandrau State Park in New Ulm, as they have showers and everything. I'll have to call and get prices for entrance to the park for the weekend (unless you have a MN park sticker), and for prices per space. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/ ... mping.html

There is also the Holiday Inn and the Microtel Hotel (kinda cheap, but it's ok). I can get a block of rooms if a few people want to stay there. You need to let me know ASAP, so they don't get booked.

First things first, we need to figure out a weekend. (See and vote in poll above). The weekend of June 19-21 doesn't work, as I'll be in Washington D.C., and I don't want to impede on the weekend of July 4th.

Current list of planned attendees:

GoldenBullet - Matt
Allmachtige - Kyle
Harofreak00 - Andrew
smellbird - Seth
SLEighride03 - Jovan
RJGill84 - Bobby

Saturday Only:
viper8907 - Tom

Maybe List:
Blown93SSEi - Jacob
Pontiac1 - Tim

My tenative plan:
Friday Evening: People arrive, have a show 'n shine at Peichel's Hill; Cookout (We will supply Pork Roast and water/soda, Bring own Booze. Remember, it's the people that make the meet, not the booze.) I'm gonna ask people to bring something to pass (Chips, dessert, etc) and we'll have a bonfire, etc. Then people can go to their hotels and campsites in NU, and sleep.
Saturday: Morning: Modding and detailing, etc. at my place. Figure out a plan for lunch, and more modding/etc. in the early afternoon. Mid afternoon check out NU, maybe go to Flandrau and chill, that's still up in the air. Evening; go to dinner, and go back to flandrau and hang out for a while.
Sunday: Brunch somewhere in NU, and whatever else, I know the IL boys will have to leave as they'll need to get home for work on Monday.

This is all tentative, and if I missed something, I'll add it here.

I could see myself attending MWBF if a lot of people planned to attend, as Minnesota isn't too far of a drive. However, the Michigan Meet is July 11th - 18th, so you will have a conflict there.

ACK!! I have a conference in D.C. the 17-22 of June, and now they're talking about taking a bus. That'd add at least 3 days each way, putting both the June weekends out :bs: #-o . I have to follow up on this ASAP, and let you all know.

I prefer the 12-14th, followed by the 26-28.
10-12th won't work well for me

There is a good chance I can make it. I can't say what weekend works best for me, but whatever gets picked I'll do what I can to make it work (babysitter, etc). I will need to stay somewhere really cheap, so either at someone's place, split a motel room, maybe camping, whatever. Last time I was at Seths I just slept in the back seat of the truck.... lol

I can do that. I still need an exact date to make sure I can go, but so far it looks good.

If I can find a rider to split the gas costs, I might be able to make it up. I've met most on the east coast and most on the west coast, but nobody in the middle :)

Exact dates are coming, all depends on what they decide to do for my trip. I can't make final plans till then, and the plans for the trip are slow in coming.

I don't know the dates for my conference, and until I know when we're leaving I can't make a commitment, as I might not be able to commit to it. Sorry for the delay, I'm waiting on the gal to finalize dates.

BUMP

My cousin's wedding might be on the 11th of July, and my trip might overlap the other two weekends, so this thing is in major jeopardy. I have to get back to you guys. I'm sorry this is taking so long, I have to depend on other people, and they only work so fast. Glad I started planning this 8 months in advance...
