Re: Professional tire swap
Maybe I can find the one that bent back the 94's metal. It really was horrible, but I fought through it and made mostly not-squished pinchwelds.

Re: Professional tire swap
when it bends all the way over into the body is the problem. There is no getting that back out.dirtracr95 wrote:You will need more than a screw driver to bend the pinch weld back. Very large vice grips and alot of elbow grease.

Re: Professional tire swap
thats bad since the pinchweld and rocker are the major portion of the structural integrity of the vehicle

I work for good year right now and 20 minutes sounds about right for that size tire 4x mount and balance but you should check the rear cus sometimes people get lazy and only static balance (as opposed to dynamic, the right way)

Re: Professional tire swap
What's the difference between the two ways? How do I tell? The car rides like a dream now,

Re: Professional tire swap
static will be only weights on the inner edge. dynamic would have weights on both sides. I didnt find it any harder or slower to balance dynamic. The only time we static balanced was when the rim was too bent, or on trucks that still wanted like 5oz even after we got the best match mount.

Re: Professional tire swap
I guess then I just have to check for wheel weights on both sides of the rear wheels? Easy enough, I guess. I'll have a look the next time the car is jacked up. Still, the ride quality is amazing.
