Here's a new idea!!

Post by 00Beast »

So I eat and drink a lot in my car, and i always have trash building up on the floor, so i had an idea the other day. Today I duct taped a white plastic kitchen garbage bag behind my center pass-through, and now i have an instant trash can!! All I have to do is keep it open and throw my trash in there, and when it's full, take it out, throw it in the can, and put in a new one. I'll get back to you all on how it works in a week or so, after some use.

I don't like the trash in my car, so I got into the habbit of cleaning things out whenever I stop. If I get a soda, I will take the fast food bag and put it in the can. Most places have cans by their doors.

Besides that, it wouldn't work for us because we keep a couple blankets and things in there for the kids. I could see it working for someone who doesn't use the pass through though.

it's really just as easy to simply take the trash out every time you get out of your car. then it's only little bits at a time, and the car stays clean. pretty easy habit to get into. besides, all that food garbage... you must have a stinky car! :P

If I eat in the car, I always put the trash back in the bag and take it with me when I get out of the car.

No mess, no funny smell that'll linger for a week, and no worries of bugs.

I'm lazy, and forgetful, so this works for me. If I have a McDonald's bag or something, I'll grab that, but most of my trash is getting something before school at the convenience store or something, and there's no trash at the door at school, i would have to carry it for a ways. It's not for everyone, but I'll try it, and if it works, I'll keep it.

I'm a student so my books and project bits and pieces get left in my back seat all the time. My front seat area stays fairly clean though. I usually chuck my trash in the back seat and when I get out I'll gather it up and trash it.

same here. everything that goes into my car comes out when I do. I've got a little CD book I toss on the floor and in the winter I have some extra hats, gloves, and boots in my trunk. That's all.

I can't stand trash in my car and I always complain to my friends that leave trash in their cars. Unless you have kids or carpool people a lot there is no good excuse for a filthy car :P

It wasn't bad for us until we had two kids. Now just going from the house to the car can take two or three trips, and by then I am just over it. I do plan on getting a garbage bin outside to make it a lot easier though.
