94 sse stalls while driving
My 94 sse stalls while driving it dosen't matter if Im going 10 mph or 80 mph no indication just shuts off I through it nutral and it starts right up. Took it to a garage they said no codes showed they found worn vaccum lines It ran better but same problem some time I can drive for over an hour before it acts up. I just orderd a fuel pressure valve I couldn't get it to hold 12" of hg It has new plugs, wires, coil pacs. I thought it may be cam shaft sensor or crank sensor but with no codes it's hard to tell. Many thanks for any help ...

i would wait until you get your new Fuel pressure regulator in. there is a good chance it will solve your problem. If not, i would start looking at the PCM (94 and 95 pcms have a high failure rate, and that is what cause my random stalling)

Re: 94 sse stalls while driving
on my 88 Lesabre i was having simular problems. The CPS would get loose or something. Sometimes i would have to monkey around with it in the morning inorder to get it to start.

It could always be the grounds under the carpet by your left foot. My 1994 SSEi did the same thing until I cut all those wires and soldered them together. Doesn't do it anymore. One key way to tell is if when it dies and the key is still on, you can roll the windows up or down. If you can't, it could be the grounds because the ignition and the windows both ground through that ground buss. If the windows still work well, then that's not the problem.... Good luck.

Is this also how a 96 SE is grounded??Keith1994SSEi wrote:It could always be the grounds under the carpet by your left foot. Check the crank position sensor, ( I had an issue when the car got hot it would stall out)
Ignition control module
I got hosed around with fuel pressure regs and all that bs try a few of these things out first

Re: 94 sse stalls while driving
I changed the fuel pressure regulator ran great for about a hour then stalled. went to a friends house turned car off could not get it to start had towed to garage they said it started right up they drove it no problems ran code check none found they cleaned crank shaft connection said it was dirty. Car died again on me at a store could not get it to start I tapped on the crank shaft sensor and pulled on the wires under the passenger side of the car and it started right up. I don't know if crank sensor is going bad or is something going on with the computer or wireing under passanger side dash. please help I am ready to take the bonne out and shoot it.....

Re: 94 sse stalls while driving
Your symptoms and the lack of codes point directly at a very common problem, especially in the colder/wetter months.
Disconnect both cables from the battery and pull the boots back. Heat them up with a blow dryer first to make it easier. Tell us what you find in the way of corrosion. The cables can corrode internally, and this is the only way to find it. It will cause EXACTLY what you describe, and is a VERY common issue. It will also throw no codes, and is commonly mistaken for crank sensor issues.
