Oil Pressure Gauge pegged hot

Post by J-ROD »

As the subject says the oil pressure gauge is pegged to the hot side. This started Wednesday. Any thoughts or ideas as to what this might be would be appreciated. Thanks.

Easy fix. Just replace the sender unit down by your oil filter. Remember to get a GM replacement! They run around $35.

Do I need to drain the oil to do this?

No, some oil will drip out, but it is not a big amount. Be sure to get it tight!!! I didn't get mine 100% tight and it started spraying oil out. Not good.
