You might soon read all sorts of nasty things about that filter. There's no reason for this year designation, by the way. The 04-05 V8 Bonnevilles with 75mm throttle bodies probably couldn't use that the same as the 00-03 supercharged Bonnevilles or the 00-05 naturally aspirated ones. What you'll get here is a pipe with a pretty average filter, at best. It's not the most awesome thing ever known to man, but it should improve at least slightly over your OE filter and plastic box. I tested out my 99 SLE (non-supercharged V6), and with two K&N cone filters, the bigger filter really did make a very noticeable difference in power throughout the entire RPM range. You should save up, get the Auto Zone rice pipe with a smooth interior, and add a K&N cone filter to the end. It'll give you much better filtering and performance.

It's good if you want to hyper-mile your Bonne. Which they are capable of pulling astounding FE numbers (35-36 highway, hoping to break that soon). Warm air = less oxygen = less fuel injected = better mileage.
A FWI is a better performance-oriented bet. Or even routing a piece of duct from the stock air box down to where it can pull in cold air, along with an Amsoil or K&N air filter.

Even a gutted air box, which is free, as long as you have or know someone that has a sawzall, is better than that. I love mine, much more whine and a lot louder.

Can the 2000 do a gutted air box?
It's pretty simple. You take out the air box and knock out the baffles inside, and enlarge the opening at the front of the box. Screwdriver (flat) and a hammer work pretty well for detaching the little plastic welds they have holding the baffles into the rest of the box.

Why not just get a fenderwell intake from INTENSE. Expensive but worth the money

I'll second that! Intense's Fender Well Intake system totally woke it up!! Easy to install, and not that expensive really if you figure that you'd be buying a performance K&N filter anyway. I believe that its a 'must do' as a first mod, especially if you're considering what I think is the best second mod -- smaller SC pulley.dbeast420 wrote:Why not just get a fenderwell intake from INTENSE. The FWI not only boosts reponsiveness BIG TIME, but also boots performance and gas mileage a little bit, the more audible SC whine sound is totally addictive...so MPG may hurt for a while from this addiction.
