remote fob

Post by Leejr57 »

I recently got a different fob for my wife's 95 bonneville SE. I can't find anything here on how to program the new fob. Any help would be appreciated. I thought I saw it here earlier, but now I can't seem to find it.

Turn the ignition off
Connect a jumper wire between pins 4 & 8 on the Data Link Connector
When the jumper connection is made, the power locks should respond by locking and unlocking
Simultaneously press both the lock and unlock buttons on the first transmitter
Hold for a second, and then release
If the programming was successful, the locks should lock and then unlock.
Repeat steps 4-6 for additional transmitters
Disconnect the jumper wire
Verify the operation of each transmitter

I just tried to set the remote with your instructions, but nothing happened. Do you have an illustration of this procedure? Pin 4 has a connector while Pin 8 does not seem to have one :???:

guys 1995's are different than 96 and newer...

go in your trunk and pull back the carpet on the passenger side quarter panel
look up by the antenna area
find the wire that is not connected to anything..... green I think
ground out that wire and your locks should lock than unlock
when that happens hit the trunk button on your new key fob
than your lock button
once you confirm the key fob is working your locks... your done
un-ground the wire and tuck it back up where you found it

oh wait..this was for my 95 Gutlass
never mind
