hello

Post by carl »

Hi,
I am Carl new to the board. I used to be heavily into building performance 350 small blocks back in the day--from the oil pump on up. Its been a good 15years, but now I am looking to all 3800 enthusiasts to guide me along a new path-- (even though I think its being replaced by the 3500, its all still new to me since the days of working with carbs and such). And I will admit that I do get scared when I see that cluster under the hood. I have no clue how to even replace injectors yet--and thats why I am here. Help me out guys!! And in the process I think we can add to everyones better understanding of it all.

Ohh and what brought me here is the infamous 3800 IM leak, which I still need to fix.
...but I think my post will be trying to learn all about fuel injectors, I will post it separate.

Welcome to the Club, Carl!
Don't get worked up about the injectors, they're actually really easy, just takes a steady hand and a little brute force.

The intake manifold leak is something you're gonna want to jump right on. That can spell motor-death pretty quick. Pretty sure the whole write-up is in TechInfo, but throw any questions you have into the right section, and we'll get you through it.
