Re: KR elimination
Have you been modifying your AE table or did you just smooth out the stock graph?

Re: KR elimination
We did make a change to the AE, which helped (Thanks Foghorn!!). I can post before and after changes we made. I'd like to learn more about AE before I change anything else.

Re: KR elimination
What procedure did you go through to determine a proper AE table? Or did Foghorn make one to match your scans?

The later. I'd talk to him first before you go changing anything. Maybe someone can be so kind as to explain/post the how-to's for AE tuning.

Re: KR elimination
So did the AE table adjustment fix KR when going from non-PE to PE mode and vice versa?

Re: KR elimination
I think the AE adjustments addressed the part-throttle KR issue, which was the same as going from non-PE to PE mode and vice versa.

Re: KR elimination
Awesome, because I have partial throttle KR as well.
Anyone have some helpful resources on AE tuning?

Re: KR elimination
Had a small exhaust leak going on, took it to last place who did the work and they did some minor welds, however, it's louder than before. While having the car in the air, I noticed a nice hole in the exhaust wrap I put over the flex pipe to help deaden the sound. I showed it to the guy and said there must be an exhaust leak right there, but he claimed it could be just heat. HEAT!? In only one spot!? The only other explanation is that hole is exactly where that little bump is on the fire wall and the flex pipe was rubbing up against it right at that bump. I need to go back or take it to someone else.
Aside from that, I' noticed the power I had is no longer present. It doesn't feel like there's any low end torque. KR is still in the 1-2 range (sometimes I see a 3), however, I didn't get to do any scanning this weekend. Today on the way to work, I did a few WOT runs and felt a few misfires going on (very quick hesitation at higher RPMS). I verified that with the scangauge. At first, I saw just 2 misfires on cyl 6, but then a few blasts later I seen misfires showing up in different cylinders. I'm thinking I need to either replace my wires (over 2 years old) or replace my ICM (hold down bolts are stripped and not really holding coils down tightly).

Re: KR elimination
You can flatten the bump. There is nothing behind it. I know it looks like that line running behind there might be in the spot, it's not. I checked before stopping that bump from rubbing on the flex on my car.

Re: KR elimination
As a test, I pulled the MSD coils and replaced with OEM. Some of my coil hold down bolts are stripped, so I bought new bolts. The threading on the middle coil hold down hole was on the bolt! The hold down bolt on another (closest to SC snout) is stripped on the 2 conductor side. There is at least one good bolt holding down each coil. (first coil was fine). It was suggested to me that because the coils are grounded through the bolts, that could be causing my misfires. I can either put in a bolt from underneath, or get a new ICM.
Here are some additional observations...
I'm now commanding 11* of timing in the "Trouble zone" (.92 g/cyl @ 2800 - 3600 RPM), yet, I'm only seeing 5 and 6 in my scans.
My PCM calculates that the engine is delivering 400-440 lbs of torque, however, I don't feel it in the arse meter.
My Injector pulse is hitting 21.9 at WOT (22.2 while holding 2nd gear at 63, then goosing it - 83% throttle 102 kPa, 3988 rpm)
I'm really getting frustrated. I should be faster than I am. What now?

Re: KR elimination
Just ordered new plug wires. Going to get two longer bolts and a couple of nuts for the two that are stripped.. Hoping I don't have to get an ICM.

Re: KR elimination
Borrow a wideband or change your O2 sensor, it's lying to you. IMO your car is running fat, that's why it feels slow, that's where your misfires are coming from. Change plugs while your at it, I bet they are really black. Based on my scans with stock injectors your IPW@5600rpm@167map@10000maf should be 17.65, this netted me a 920mv O2 reading, WB verified at 12.0. Your IPW was at 19.9 @5700rpm@165map@10057maf showing you a O2 reading of 938.............This is where widebands come in handy. I bet your exhaust tips are coated in black soot. FWIW I'm reading Map at 184,. Maf at 10600hz and still only have IPW's in the 18's and 19's. I'm out of injector, you shouldn't be. Also, work on getting your LTFT to lock in at 0 during PE.

Re: KR elimination
I'm wondering if there's an exhaust leak coming from my flex pipe. Couldn't that cause false readings?
The O2 was replace in June (nothing wrong with the first one, but replaced it just in case).
Plugs were just changed a month ago.

Re: KR elimination
Well, you're moving less air than I am and you're putting more fuel into it.......
Edit: I had plugs in for 3 weeks while I was tuning, I saw some o2 readings above 990. I developed misfires.....I lowered my 02's, still misfires.....I changed all my plugs out, misfires gone since. Not saying that it's your exact issue but changing my plugs out seems to have resolved mine. All the plugs I took out looked decent.....but my misfires went away when I changed them.

Re: KR elimination
Possible time for a valve job? Never had them done before.
Spark plug wires are at least 2 years old (maybe 3). It's about time to change them.
If it were only one cylinder, I'd be suspect to the plugs, but it's random so I wonder if the wires are bad or the connection @ the ICM.
Another interesting thing....factory gapping is .060, I was at .055, had some misfires going on, lowered to .052, and now back to .055.

Stock and Stock from what I can tell. I wonder if the flow % difference is that high from one set of injectors to another? Maybe I'm on crack too

Re: KR elimination
I removed my coils and took off my ICM from the base plate. I used the electrical silicone and made a good surface connection between the base plate and the ICM. I also put some silicone on the prongs that go inside the coils. I then bought some nuts/bolts and secured the coils to the ICM. I also put the MSDs back on. Not driving tonight and car pooling tomorrow. Will post results soon.

Still misfires going on. Wires should be in today. Will put them on tonight.
