Holy COW. Your Ride is 3 pages long in 4 fooking days? Where have I been?

Anyway, someone mentioned this doesn't feel like home without pics of beer and Bo, and greyhare got a start on that in the lounge for us today. Here's my attempt:

Image

Let's zoom in on that beer a bit......
Image
(randomly selected pint glass from the freezer, absolutely serious)

And on to some minor sticker work:

Recent work on an EGR blockoff plate (testing for use later with the intercooler):

What happens when you're rushing to get an alternator hooked up before the next monstrous Oregon spring downpour:

Look closely. Do you see it? For those that know what that fitting is, you'll get the significance.

Tell me you guys caught the beer glass significance.

Matt, no arc-flash. I was actually looking at the wall of rain coming at me, which is probably why the 'ol ratchet travelled a little too far. That's the T fitting that keeps my fuel pressure gauge happy.

yeah Bill, thats a dangerous spot for an arc. I bet you had that feeling where you think your heart just fell as far as you stomache.

and I like the egr block off plates. Looks good. You just pollish some aluminum? Any gasket on there?

There was no fuel yet. Key hadn't been turned since before disassembly. ;)

EGR plates are 1/4" aluminum, but only the visible one is polished. Standard high-temp RTV for now on that one, I'll custom laser-cut a permanent gasket or 5 later. The lower one (in the heat zone) is a trimmed EGR gasket. Steel backing with lead.

I didn't teach him that crap. Boxer's love beer by breeding (german). Remember how much Mick drank when we were bottling, capping, and spilling?

I probably would have had a heart attack if I sparked anywhere near the fuel rail :sad5:

...and are those RED vacuum lines? Where do you find those?

Not vac lines in the traditional sense. That's red poly tubing typically used for compressed air/N2 in automation systems. These are little scraps I hang onto. They're semi-rigid and hold their shape, and won't collapse under vacuum.

Sweet! Poly as in polyvinylchloride? It looks cool, at the very least. Would say they are more or less rigid than reinforced fuel-rated lines? It would probably be overkill on my LN3 tho.

Not PVC. That's bad news in high-heat.

Polypropylene. Even Polyethlyne is better than PVC for heat.

LOL that looks like it was quite the arc! Yeah, my heart would have been pumping, even with no fuel present.

And I agree with the looking too serious comment. Bo must have just been getting started on that brewski. :D
