Brake line failure
Had one of brake lines start to leak, underhood one for the rear. Looks like a bear to replace. Is this a one piece line? no junctions? Any one have a good source for prebend lines? On line I find "Lines to go" Any info or imput would be of helpful. Thanks, getting too old for this repair.

Re: Brake line failure
Prebent lines will be hard to find and hard to install. Take a good look to find where splicing in some new line will work best and buy that much, plus the little tools to flare and add fittings. Bubble flares are great, but I've had zero issues with the single flare splices I put in almost 20 years ago.

Re: Brake line failure
I would suggest copper nickel line. In addition to it being able to be formed by hand, it also flares very easy.
There was a recent post here about fittings and the p/n for the proportioning valves.

Re: Brake line failure
Used copper nickel line. It was the lowest line, runs to left front. The line was kinked up at one of the plastiic line supports, collected a little salt I beleive. I inspected all the lines, all still good. I painted them with epoxy paint many years ago. I did not paint the line that rusted, it was under the hood. Not a terrible job due to it being the lowest line. Tight locastion to work. Double flares are a little tricky, but practised first on small pieces to get the hang of it. Need to bleed all the lines now to complete but hot weather is delaying me. Should I switch to DOT type 4 fluid?

Re: Brake line failure
Project complete. DOT 4. Bleed all the lines , used a new style brake bleeder, pressurized the reservoir. What a great tool.
