Car Issues

Post by TristK »

Hi, so I have been having some weird problems with my 2005 Bonneville SE, over a long period of time resting it'll start just fine but when you start it alot over a short period of time it doesn't really like to start. And also I've been having the issue of starting it then as soon as I switch it to drive it'll just kill the engine. I'm completely stumped over the problem and would really appreciate any help thanks!

Likely two separate issues, do you have any codes?
1. Leaking fuel pressure regulator causing fuel to flood the vacuum lines basically flooding itself out. Check for any wetness in the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator.
2. Could be many things causing it to misfire and as soon as it sees a load it dies. Try unplugged the MAF sensor and see if it acts different.

The only code on my engine is for the EGR valve, which I already replaced and I recently replaced the mass airflow sensor as well.

Fuel pressure regulator usually causes these starting issues when the vehicle is not fully warm.
