I'm liking the 'engine in the chassis' idea. The LeSabre technically went through 4 engines and 4 trans, the SSEi is on engine #2/trans #3 going in, the SE on #3/#2.
317 on the SSEi, 360 on the motor.
...
I just did the count. I've R&R 14 engines (4 rebuilds) and R&R 16 trans (rebuilt 6, not counting do-overs)

Just curious, should I start a thread under the General Chat section and maintain the data entered by the members in their posts in my first post (sorta like 'First Name Only' thread), or is there "something-a-foot" on this, or ??. Thanks - BC

My 2001 SLE just hit 148,000 miles. I bought it new, and it has been very reliable for all of these years. The only problems have been the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. Still plan on keeping it.
Where are the updates from the other Bonneville owners? This subject hasn't received posts since 2014 until mine now.
Mine joined the family at around 3,000 miles at the end of 2003. It has now just over 218,000 miles. It still has the original alternator, power steering pump and rack, water pump, transmission, fuel pump, and all 4 wheels.
Lots of little things replaced. All 4 wheel bearings over time, the fronts twice. Multiple passenger CV axles, driver still original... New inner and outer tie rods twice. Lower control arms once. 3 sets of rear air shocks until I finally just got rid of them for spring loaded shocks. As all 3800s, it got the updated lower intake gaskets and has had the upper intake replaced twice. Multiple fluid changes for all the fluids. It's on its 5th set of tires.
The rust is starting to eat it pretty good, but with good care, these cars can just keep on eating and eating the miles. It's been nothing but a pleasure to work on, and has taught me a lot about cars.

I have a little over 210xxx on my GXP and it still runs very strong. I've had to replace a couple of coils and now I'm leaking power steering fluid. Not a big deal, I will have it repaired soon.
Good for you, BattleFX. Keep it going. I'm wondering how the other Bonneville owners are doing on mileage? Not many posts here. I'm at 163,000 now, and I have a long way to go for 200,000 on my 2001. I am the original owner.
I just reached 180,000 miles on my 2001 SLE, and it is still running good. How about the rest of you, especially the Bonneville owners that use them as daily drivers?
