Summit Racing UIM replacement

Post by zombie112 »

Hi all! I just wanted to ask if anyone has used the Summit EFI upper intake manifold and what your experience was like? SUM-226100

Or is ATP still the recommended aftermarket UIM?

I would get the Dorman part. That Summit p/n has folks complaining about cracking the plastic with stock torque spec.

I'm seeing a lot of recent negative reviews with the dorman, whether it be defects in the shape of it, gasket not lining up, or bolt holes cracking in the same way

I've personally installed dozens of Dorman's with no come-backs.

After my original UIM failed at 60ish thousand miles in 2012 I put on a Dorman. It lasted until about 170k in 2018 before it too burned through near the EGR. But that is approaching double what the original one lasted. I tossed on another one. Over 245k now. If it happens again, I'll just do it again lol People might be strong arming them a little bit. Just tighten it down carefully.
