So from experence, 4th gear shifts usually happen around 140 MPH. Ive done 150 so far (Recored), But my goal is to see how much till it runs out of gear.
I dont know if anyone has attempted it before, everyones more into 0-60 and quarter miles. I heard rumors that 4 gear pulls can cause grenading but, from my attempts at top speeds and some actual research, I came to the conclusion thats not the case.
If anyone has any idea on whats needed, please post here.
I do know that you need many cooling mods (Trans cooler, 180 t-stat, oil cooler) When doing such a thing. And the correct tires. Lowering the vehicle will help. Remember that the Salt Flat Custom:

Had no body modifcations besides a 3 inch lowering kit and a parashoot, So further body modifcations prob are not needed.
The most important thing ive found out when doing unrecored top speed runs, is that some parts *Cough* power steering release valve *Cough* Will tend to go oof and not work right for abit, if it is original OEM parts.
Yes, this is where im taking my car towards, a more top speed approach. I live in a area where there is very, very long, wide stretches of dead roads, near sea level, so I can prob get some recordings of SAFE top speed runs.
If anyone else has attempted such things, shoot some tips or upgrades.
