Hello there my fellow Bonneviller's. I'm having an interesting issue with my o2 sensor (bank 1 sensor 1) and could use some expert help. I have a 2000 ssei that keeps displaying a 0134 code.
The engine dies during deceleration, and I'm stuck in open loop mode all the time. But I can't figure out why I'm getting the code when I have voltage readings on the 02 sensor, which I assumed meant
it was working properly. My idle voltage reading range is 0.425-0.480 volts, and when I increased the rpm to 2000 at idle, it changed to 0.450-0.525 volts. So my question in its very basic form is, if the
02 sensor is getting a voltage reading does that necessarily mean its functioning properly? If not, then what should operating voltage reading range be to go into closed loop mode?
Any help would be greatly appreciated..
Interesting O2 sensor problem but maybe not for the experts!

O2 voltages will range from 0.0-5.0v, not just the small .25v change you are seeing. Probably a bad o2 sensor. Also check the #20 underhood fuse before doing anything.

Ok thanks for the input. I've already ordered a 02 sensor. What does the #20 fuse power?

Well I've just replaced the o2 sensor and still getting very similar readings as the old one and I'm still in a open loop status. I'm not sure what may be the problem now. I did check fuse 20 and it was good.harofreak00 wrote:O2 voltages will range from 0.0-5.0v, not just the small .25v change you are seeing. Probably a bad o2 sensor. I have pasted a link of the scan tool readings if it helps.
