Need help finding 12V Ign wire
Need help finding 12V Ign wire
I have the 2003 Base model, SE. I am having trouble finding a 12V source for the red ign wire. Where did you guys tie into? GM made sure that it was not easy to install anything aftermarket in these cars. Please help. My wife is getting frustrated riding around with dash panels in the seats. She just told me to just put the factory head back in, but I want her to have a backup camera along with the bluetooth.

Re: Need help finding 12V Ign wire
If I remember right pink wires were usually +12V key on in the 92-99. Might be the same for 00+

Re: Need help finding 12V Ign wire
Not all GM cars of the 2000's have a switched 12V wire. Either the pink or green wire near the orange one from what I've read works.
Theres alternatives too.
You can wire it to wire a part to the fuse box, which HAS switched power.
You can run it to a constant 12V source with a simple switch for off and on, or simply remove the main part of the head unit whenever you aren't in the car.
It's not really exclusive to one method.

IGN3 under the rear seat is what I use for my radio.
