1994 Bonneville SE stalled and now wont start

Post by Meghan »

Hi yall,

So a month ago while driving my 1994 Bonneville SE, it stalled on me and nothing I seem to do can get it to turn over now. I checked the fuel pump and its good so I checked the spark and its not getting any, Ive replaced the crank shaft position sensor, all 3 coil packs, and ignition control module and it still wont start. Have yall ever had this problem? And do yall have any other suggestions on what I can try?

Did it have any trouble codes?

I wonder if your pcm gave up.

What scanner was used to scan it? This is the wretched OBD 1.5 generation.

I thought the ICM takes care of the spark during starting, provided there's a crank signal?

For what it's worth when I was trying to start my 95 (same PCM) with an erased memcal, I had spark, fuel pressure but no injector pulse.

ICM does handle spark control until PCM commands the override, which should happen at 400rpm. It will even still control spark at operating speeds if no override signal is received by the computer, but it probably won't run right and it would set a code.

No spark has me wanting to focus in the icm crank sensor area, looking at power, grounding and wiring
