Finally fixed (replaced) the back window regulator on the Bonneville. It would have been great if the new one had come with threaded holes for the window motor bolts. Oh well. A drive to Canadian Tire to buy a package of nylon nuts only took 15min.

Also replaced the front window motor a few weeks ago. The car has 4 working windows and completely assembled doors again! Hooray!

Changed Penny's power steering fluid yesterday and cleaned up all of the contacts and connections between the coils and ICM. No more bucking in 4th gear!

Slowly preparing the car for winter time daily duty. Snow brush is back in the trunk!

Replaced my blower motor on my 2005SLE.
Cannot believe how easy it was.
Took me about 45 minutes.
If I did it again would take 30 minutes or less.
I had to do my 2000SLE a while back and it was a nightmare.
I would like to thank GM for the new design change!!!!
The old design was just terrible.

Last weekend, put the headlight housings and HID's in the G8. Ended up doing a whole bunch of "bodywork".

I don't what this guy before me hit, or what he (or some hackjob) did to try and fix it, but several of the fender bolts were loose. Not like not torqued properly loose, I'm talking bolts half-way in/finger turnable loose. Much of the plastic shrouding was missing the bulk of it's press-fit connectors and/or screws, etc... Now, aside from the struts, my front end is quiet. :D

Yesterday I was driving the S after driving Penny for a few days. Ears are tuned to sub 2k RPM highway cruising.
Pull out past a truck in 6th at 75, 4K rpm. Stupid brain decides it’s in 4th gear. Take stick out of 6th and try to put it into “7th” but the shifter is obviously out of gates. Put it into 5th. Immediately realize something is fishy, but proceed. Let out clutch. Chirp the tires. See my life flash before my eyes (jk, maybe just my dignity). Proceed to drive home in silence.

This morning driving Penny, step on brake with right foot. Instinctively smash on furthest left pedal with left foot. Brake pedal is wide so both feet fit. Right foot drops and so does my heart... there go the brake lines finally.

Oh JK. I’m just stupid and apparently can’t switch between cars.

Brand New (to me) Used winter tires have been mounted on my steel wheels which I cleaned a ton of dust/salt/dirt off of before bringing them to the shop.

Now they're sitting in the trunk and back seat respectively. Just need to find a little time to put them onto the car.

Gave up on trying to put my winters on at home. With the time change it's dark by the time I get there.

Changed my wheels in the parking lot at work during my lunch break. Bring on the snow! (Actually, please don't. That means shoveling.)

I may have mentioned this, once, twice, maybe three times before...

On that note, since we're about to get our first of the season, that also means road salt will be applied liberally. After all, they're already laying down the beet juice like we're going to get an apocalyptic storm here... Anyway, I changed cars around last night. So the GTO is back home and the Caddy is over at the storage unit.

I need to get my GTO over to Matt’s here soon. I don’t want it to get winter on it again. It snowed a bit on our fall color trip and that was the first and hopefully only time it will be driven in that evil stuff.

New subframe bushings for the Bonneville today!

Like Lane, I too hate snow, or rather the salt to be completely honest.

S2000 is warm, clean, freshly oiled, and tank full of gas. Snoozin' in the garage, since I have no doubt they're gonna go wild with the salt despite half an inch of snow.

It barley snowed here like maybe a dusting in the grass and wet roads, and I saw at least 4 salt trucks on my 18 mile commute to work this morning.

Anyway I ordered new snow tires for the Passat today.

We got about an inch. But the way they were pre-treating the roads with Beet Juice the last two days, you'd have thought we were expecting the storm of the century.

Well, as Ryan alluded, we got snow. The Camaro is now barely driveable on dry pavement with these tires and the blower, so needless to say... It got stuck in the driveway this morning and I had to take the Olds to work. I didn't see any salt trucks on the roads, but I did encounter morons who still haven't figured out how to drive in the snow... Newsflash, get out of the left lane if you can't figure it out.

In other news, I already miss driving a beater that I don't care if it gets hit...

Washed the car today.
Temperature got up to 41 degrees.
Heat wave!!!
Could not believe how bad it got just from Friday's 1" snowfall.
They got a little nuts around here with the salt.

Yesterday I had the snow tires mounted on the Passat.
Today I waxed the GTO and put it away till spring.
Probably going to get all new suspension and bushings for it over winter.

Installed boat roller mount.

Yesterday, got Penny an alignment after the subframe job. The car drives so well now. So solid and straight. This morning I washed and waxed it. Heard we have some snow headed our way for Thanksgiving.

Pulled a ton of info out of the car with the shops OTC Genysis, got to sift through the data and see what I can figure out in regards to the evap codes that won't go away. Was going to work on the wife's sport trac tomorrow..the drivers side brake drum is hanging up really bad. I had changed the pads and new hardware when I took it off to inspect a noise we were hearing, which was a loose drum brake pad. Well, apparently the drum is warped. Ordered a new drum from Advanced auto parts with a 20% off code and ended up getting a drum for an F350 sent to me....verified the information on the website and it says "exact fit! " Well, not really...so I found replacements though NAPA ...2 new drums for almost the price I paid for this one on sale. So much for me getting the dumb thing fixed though....grrr.
