I just registered. Now I have to decide when I’m going to embark on this journey. I have a discount for hotels through a friend so I don’t know if I’ll leave after work Friday or head out super early on Saturday morning.

Hotel is booked, Hampton inn in carol stream. Looks to be down the road from the show. Will be staying Friday and Saturday night.

Yea, it's right next to Joe Cotton Ford at North and Gary Ave.

The show is about 4 - 5 miles west on North (64) in St. Charles/West Chicago at the Pheasant Run resort. It's over next to DuPage Airport.

Reminder... This coming weekend...

Another friendly update... Should anyone other than Ryan come (since he will be coming straight down 64 to St. Charles from Carol Stream), if any of you should get lost, and decide to come up Kautz Rd. (Which is the north/south road on the west side of DuPage Airport/Pheasant Run), DON'T! They decided to oil and sand the north end of it this past week... Brilliant... I know! Not sure why, the north end of it was all new/newer, so it wasn't necessary to be honest. The south end of Kautz is crap and the money would've been better spent fixing that. So if you need a north/south route right by the event, stick to Kirk Rd. to the west or Route 59 or even Kress/Powis Rd's, to the east.

My plan is, hopefully I will get out of here at a decent time tomorrow and then go swap cars. Meaning, take the GTO out of the storage unit, put the Caddy in. Bring the GTO home and start "freshening it up".

Then I'll show up Saturday. Weather is looking to hold for the weekend, so... Earlier in the week, they were saying storms both days, then just Sunday. Now nothing.

I’m “supposed” to be out of work by 6pm tomorrow. So my plan is to get a can of surge and some food and start driving. With the time zone it looks like I’ll be at the hotel at 9:45 local time.

Yea, I would still factor in around 10:30 just because you never know what traffic you'll get on 80/94 into Chicago. I'll probably be out in the garage.

Is anyone else coming?

I made it to the hotel. Was quite an interesting drive, there must’ve been a car meet going on somewhere. Saw an Evo on slicks, a GTI, trans am and a C7 on the road the hotel is on.

Probably just racing up/down North Ave. as it's the main drag through many of those towns. Being 3 lanes in each direction, lots of people like to play, although, I'd be careful through Carol Stream. They're pretty gestapo.

I was planning on getting there when the gates open at 8am. But we'll see how well that goes... I will text when I am about to leave.

Not really car related, but last night St. Charles Police responded to an unresponsive man at Pheasant Run. I guess he died eventually. They said there was upper body damage like he had been hit by a car.

Only bumping this because Pheasant Run, where the Cruisin' Tigers had this up until it closed in 2020, burned down yesterday.
