Sunroof?

Post by james1965 »

ok i'm pretty embarrassed to even ask this but.... my 2005 SLE has a sunroof in it, with 1 button, you hit the button 1 time and it slides in half way or you hit and hold it and it goes all the way inside. I push it forward and it will go forward and close and seal.. no big deal right but my question is. I was looking at pictures today and saw a 2004 gxp body and his sunroof vented Up in the rear of it. did they make 2 types of this sun roof or is mine just out of adjustment or maybe i'm missing something. I've held the button forward once it was in the closed position, no movement or noise like it is trying to move. I never cared for the slider roof, but a venting one I've always loved in my previous cars. any insight on this?

well here is what I just tried.. I've tried pushing that button forward, pulling it back to the express and to the full open. as far as pulling down on the switch it doesn't seem to pull down, just back or forward. perhaps it is broken I dunno. i'm looking directly at the owners manual. the owners manual says once it is in the closed position , pressing the switch upward to vent position. I've tried all that.. doesn't attempt to do anything.

I had the same issue trying to figure it out on mine because is was so NOT intuitive. Eventually after fiddling with it, I moved it the correct way and it went to the vent position. It's a weird shape for a switch.

You're not alone. Lol.
