DIC not fully working
Does anyone know why the DIC in my 03 Bonneville SLE doesn't display all the information it suppose to.

Re: DIC not fully working
It would probably help to know more about WHAT information you're talking about.
Are certain characters of the display no longer lit?, Does the "Average Gas Mileage" work while the "Instant Mileage" doesn't, etc

Re: DIC not fully working
It will flash some info on fuel and nothing on oil...just keeps saying need oil change and all I'm able to do is remove message. It will show the description of process, but none of the processes. I'm thinking the gas cap is not for car and the fuel pump is old for fuel, but it doesn't show anything on oil or anything else. UPDATE...the range for fuel is what is popping up ever so often. Checked the wiring on the control for dic and only two wires are dead...the ground and the solid pink have no juice. Looks like the previous owner made the wires longer and used butt connecters.

Re: DIC not fully working
Took the battery off for thirty min last night and it had a glimpse of the fuel range and nothing else...it will only show (vehicle data) and no data...(Personalition settings ) and no settings and (Oil Change Soon) and none of the oil data...ohh and compass calibration. That's all I'm getting on the DIC.
Buttons only remove (Tire Pressure) and (Change oil soon) and clear out screen...nothing more.
Thank you for the manual...Does it cover a 2003 SLE Bonneville also?

Re: DIC not fully working
Update...been looking at wires on the control switch (trip reset) and come to see there are 7 wires in all and 2 are dead. I'm thinking maybe since there are salvage yard numbers on them, that maybe I'm suppose to have the five button control. Currently have the 3 button one.

Re: DIC not fully working
I believe all SLE's had the 5 button. Someone may have switched it out for some reason.

Re: DIC not fully working
dead as in no power or dead as in not terminated/connected?
if you can find the proper one, you can check the wires - been looking but cant find pics or schematics, sorry.
and yes that is 2000 model bonny

Re: DIC not fully working
Thank you all for your input and the manual...it is what tipped me off on the 5 button control switch. I think this car has been in a wreck and only put parts in to make the insurance policy on what it would cover...explains the wrecking yard numbers on bezel and some other things. I will finish this car just like I did my last 03 f-150 and 93 Sedan Deville.
