You'll need about 7-8 qts for a pan drop. The standard fluid replacement is DexIII (a gallon at Walmart for $11) but you can also put in the premium fluid (Dex IV). I personally run the Walmart SuperTech fluids in all my vehicles. If I were you, I'd buy 2 gallons of SuperTech DexIII.

Depending on how long you are planning to keep the thing, it might be advisable to toss a shift kit in there as well.

http://transmissionrepairguy.com/automa ... ion-fluid/.... this is a decent site for general tranny info

be sure to check level with engine running and in park after you have shifted into each gear for about 10 seconds.

here is the manual for your lesabre...http://www.vadengmpp.com/owners-manual/ ... esabre.pdf

page 7-32 has trannny info - is there a drivability issue or you just wondering?
