For those who replaced blower motor-Help with which part

Post by azu »

Looking at Rock Auto parts for the blower motor. I would like one that is plug and play which I know the AC DELCO is. Anyone get the Four Seasons brand and was this plug and play or does it need to be modified a bit? Let me know which brands were easy install. I might just pull one from a Junker but you never know how long that may last.

I bought this from rock auto 6 yrs ago and installed nicely with no modification- DELPHI BM10009 Blower Motor $ 53.79 , but I see rock auto does not have it anymore, I would go with 4 seasons, it looks like a good price and they are a good company. I would not go to a used one on this, not worth it when a new one is only 40.

The blower design changed in 2002, be aware of that.

I see the Four Seasons one is stated for 2000-2005 where as the ACDELCO is 2002-2005. Still waiting to see if anyone has installed the Four Seasons in 2002-2005 models.

I don't know how the Four Seasons' unit can fit 00-05, your 03 is different than 00. Get one that is specifically for your car. And, since I'm in a commenting mood, here's a couple more:

1. If you buy Delco, you'll pay extra and you'll still be getting a product made in Asia, not USA. My Delco box said made in USA; the motor motor itself was made in Vietnam. So I guess the cardboard box was made in USA.
2. Don't buy a used unit, it will likely have a worn commutator too and who knows how long it will last.

Mine was acting up (not running intermittently) so I removed it, took it apart, cleaned all the gunk out of it, shined up the armature and brushes with some emery cloth, and put a spot of grease in the bushing. Works great now.

Might try this to tackle the ticking sound my TYC replacement is making.

I would return the one that dont fit and bring the original with you to match it with new one - be sure connector is good to go also

you say you broke it: i assume its plastic - use crazy glue to repair and use acetone (nail-polish remover)
to remove excess glue that is visible........good luck man

Hope I'm not to late to help, but the four seasons is a direct fit for the 03. The TYC and AC Delco that Rock auto sales requires you to buy the plastic housing that the fan mounts in to make them work in an 03+.
