Key Fob Remote Control?
Hey guys, I was searching around on the internet for any options to somehow program a remote to my 94' SE because it would be really handy to unlock the car from afar whilst it's raining instead of standing by the door and scrambling to unlock the door with my key and getting soaked. I found a somewhat promising website that claims to sell one for my 94' but I'm kind of skeptical of it actually working for my application. Here's the link:

If anyone can vouch for this certain product, or has experience doing this in another fashion, could you give me a little insight, as it's something i've wanted to do for a while.
Thanks as always!

If you have automatic door locks, then it should work just fine. Otherwise, you could get a remote starter and that will come with door lock control as well...
A temporary fix does not exist. It becomes a solution until it needs to be fixed again.

Re: Key Fob Remote Control?
assuming that I'm correct; this would be my OBDII port?

That would be it. Good luck. I don't know what I'd do without a working key fob. I carry it in my pocket and leave the keys in the car. I hate having a bunch of crap in my pockets. That along with the homelink built in garage door opener on my '01 have spoiled me. I don't need to carry keys.

Re: Key Fob Remote Control?
Okay thanks! I was also wondering; on the instructions for programming that certain key fob it mentions connecting terminal 8 and 4 together using "suitable jumper wires". I've read that people can use a paperclip but I'm also skeptical of that. Can I buy jumper wires for this certain purpose at like Advanced Auto and places like that and use it for this application? Or will a paperclip suffice for this?

Your 94 SE came with the option of having a key fob? or did they put the modules in all of the models?

Re: Key Fob Remote Control?
Well, I'm honestly not 100% sure. I posted and said I was skeptical because the website I visited says it is compatible with the 94 Bonneville, but it wasn't Trim Level specific. But if you go to the link I posted above in the thread, you can take a look for yourself. The instructions make it seem that it's almost universal, but still I'm not sure if I'm missing something or not.

A paperclip will suffice, there is no universal magic "jumper cable". You are shorting out two terminals, it won't really matter if you use a shielded or unshielded wire.

Re: Key Fob Remote Control?
So now that i've found the OBD II under my dash, looking at it now, I only have a contact pin in terminal 4 and on the fob's programming instructions, it says there needs to be a pin in Terminal 4 AND in terminal 8. I'm not sure if I need to look if theres a wire behind the port where I can crimp a new pin onto and put that in terminal 8, or if I would need to buy a new OBD II in all. Also if my car isn't compatible for a key fob to be programmed into at all. So i'm just a bit confused because the information I'm finding doesn't really seem to be the EXACT answer I'm looking for.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Key Fob Remote Control?
And once again I'm back lol. Upon further investigation using my VIN number and some technical support, my car didn't have the keyless remote entry available to it's certain trim level in 1994. Thus explaining why terminal 8 in my OBD II is vacant most likely. So thanks for all the help and suggestions guys, but sadly, the effort to add this feature to my car will be futile.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Key Fob Remote Control?
I added Factory Keyless to mine years ago... It was a bit of a pain.. I ended up adding a driver door unlock control relay, and the right keyless module, then plumbing into the right wires to get the rest of the doors to unlock and lock as well as the trunk release..
For others, if you have a 92-95 and it has the code AU0 then it is equipped with keyless entry.. No AU0 no keyless.
