Looking for a backup camera

So I'm looking for a backup camera setup for the truck. I'm thinking probably hardwired as opposed to wireless since they operate off the reverse light signal which isn't reliable on my truck (you have to push the shifter up towards park to get them). Ideally I need a screen around 5 inches or smaller and a license plate mounted camera. I've found a few cheapo ones on Amazon but I'm wary of them unless someone has had good experiences with them. So what have you guys used?

I've got the cheap Chinese license plate frame one on my truck. I'm on my 3rd one, they keep dying or fogging over. You get what you pay for. The cheap ones last about a year.

Ah I see, well if you are familiar with the 88-94 Chevy interior you'll know that double din isnt really an option. What I'm thinking is to use the dash pocket above the a/c controls where the factory radio was and mount a small screen in there

Gotcha, I am, I grew up in a pickup very similar to yours. ECLB dark blue with light blue mid-stripe.

I just went and measured the dash pocket, looks like 5.25 by 2.75 or so. Now to find a screen that will fit as snug as possible.

It's like a DIN and a half tall and not quite wide enough. It's a weird size. I'd guess Drew has his aftermarket HU over below the middle vents where the tape player is. Good thing most of them have remotes...

Yep that's the idea Ed, I actually have some grand plans to revamp my entire stereo in the truck but it is pretty low on the list compared to things like a/c, paint, and finishing the interior.
