Low fuel pressure

Post by Powellfamilysleeper »

I have a 2000 ssei with low fuel pressure after it warms up to operating temp the idle is erratic and when you try to accelerate it dies mechanic tested fuel pressure and it was low I'm wondering if the fuel pump control module is bad or if it's the pump or regulator mechanic says pump but idk crank sensor and ICM have just been changed so some help before I dump more into it would be great I'm going to change the pump anyway but I just don't want it to be something unchecked as well ty

HI, what fuel pressure reading do you have with engine off and key in run position?
also post the pressure at idle please

I would change the fuel filter and test the regulator before throwing parts at her

most likely the pump.. If its coming out Honestly I would get a Fuel Sender with pump and a filter and just do it all. The Senders when they are old start failing.. I did the "Fuel Gauge" fix and shortly after the pump failed.. got a new Delphi Sending unit and pump from Rock auto and all good.

Are the Delphi pump comparable to the ac delco or are they better/worse? I think they are both GM.

Same *shoot*, different box. Delphi is a GM OEM supplier.
