2000 Bonnie VIN-K Transmission whine in overdrive?

My daughter has an '00 Bonneville..... when the tranny shifts into Overdrive there is an irritating "whine" high pitched noise (only way I know to describe it) that starts..... when you shift it into 3rd or step on the gas to accelerate the noise goes away..... other than that it shifts smoothly and no other problems. I've never heard anything like this before....... any ideas?

hi, I would change fluid and filter and see if the noise is still there = was there any work done to the car before the noise? - what is mileage?....thanks

I have changed the fluid, filter, and used Lucas Auto Tranny..... Car has 135k....... noise has been there since we owned the car about 18 months ago.
