My SSE Bonneville stalled the exact same way on the highway.
It was the tiny pin connectors on the Ign module harness.
They loose continuity for some reason and stall the car.
Take the ICM connector off, get a tiny screwdriver and tighten up on the sockets, then put
it on and off 3 - 4 times apply die-electric and its good to go.
I did 2 cars like this already that were stalling and both worked.
Anyone had their Bonne stall on them while moving?

Is this the large connector at the base of the coil packs? I checked it for play, but I will unclip it and check it out.SSEBonne4evr wrote:My SSE Bonneville stalled the exact same way on the highway.

I also think I found the reason why sometimes it fires up and idles like crap for a bit (or stalls)
I was looking at the Fuel Reg, and popped off the vac line, and what do you think I saw? Some gas poured out of it. Don't think thats supposed to do that :p Unmetered fuel going straight into the Throttle body. Am I correct the Regulator is failing?

Yep, that regulator is toast. Usually the diaphragm inside of it will fail, and cause fuel to be sucked into the intake manifold. There have been a lot of issues of UIM's actually exploding due to backfires that result from the extra fuel being sucked into the manifold and igniting during startup, or even after the vehicle has been turned off but is still hot. I'd replace the regulator asap, but you're on the right track there!

Yes the regulator is toast, get it out of there before the intake explodes on startup.
The ICM harness has a center bolt on it (facing the radiator) under the coils. Just remove it and get under the
bent socket prongs with a tiny screwdriver and tighten them up, you have to work the prong from side to side.

Re: Anyone had their Bonne stall on them while moving?
I checked the ICM connecter last night. Connection is clean and all the prongs are snug. Today I installed a new FPR (BWD 23045P) and haven't noticed any further issues yet. Fires up nice and smooth.
I may get some MAF cleaner or Brake cleaner (Non-Chlorinated) and clean the IAC and possibly the TPS just for kicks. Hopefully the FPR was the reason for it hard starting. I'll see if I get another other feedback when my girl takes it to work in the next 5hrs.
Cheers all and thanks for the help so far

I have the same come-and-go stalling problem with my 98 SSEI (stalls rolling up to light). It always starts right back up.TheLoyale wrote:I checked the ICM connecter last night. Stalling issues can be caused by a number of things, and should be handled on a case by case basis. I think your best bet would be to start a new thread of your own in the appropriate mechanical section so that we can help narrow down what your issue is. Also try and be as detailed as possible when you post, including when it's happening and how.sgmburke wrote:I have the same come-and-go stalling problem with my 98 SSEI (stalls rolling up to light).
