Well, here is my "Thank You" speech.
First let me say that I tried to find something on the net that fit what I wanted to say and that I could plagiarize, take full credit for, yet easily copy/paste and move on. Unfortunately, that did not work to my benefit as they were either wedding speeches or commencement speeches. So now I must actually convey my thoughts (all 3 of them)... Ok, maybe I don't even have three.
Second, I know in my last victory "celebration", I thanked everyone under the sun. So this time, I wanted to go bigger. You know, go big or go home kind of thing… This time I was going to go and copy/paste every member screen name on Pontiac Bonneville Club and thank them all here in this thread. I ran into a small problem though. Currently there are 11,506 registered members here. Essentially I would be copying and pasting until next June unless there is a way to Copy/Paste or download them that I'm too stupid to figure out (which is always a high probability). By then I would have also run out of other vehicles to win TOCOTM. I'd probably be amending this thank you note to give thanks for voting my Crapsman lawn tractor as TOCOTM by that point.
So here we are now. Who to thank? I'd like to thank all those who voted for me. It is an honor and a privilege to stand before you, victorious. I'd like to thank my fellow nominees in this competition.
- Ryan for his Cutlass. I have a soft spot for 80's G-Bodies. Having spent my high school years terrorizing "Da 'Hood" in my Mother's 85 Cutlass Supreme. Mother, I have NO idea how all that grass got packed into the frame behind the rear wheels... Really! Or that wooden post that you may have found in your trunk. No clue how that happened...
- 95naSTA and his Enduro. Looking into starting restoration on a BSA I have in my other garage, has had me looking at many Yamaha's, Honda's and of course fellow British bikes like Triumph and Norton's of that vintage.
- Where would I be without thanking Stan. It was he who nominated my silver princess. I REALLY think he still feels guilty for not penning a proper acceptance speech as TOCOTM last month. He’ll probably never admit it though.
- It is also an honor to win this prestigious award in nearly back to back months. Actually doing that would've been something. Right up there with winning both COTM and TOCOTM in the same month like Matt did.
- I guess I should also throw a shout out to Pontiac Bonneville Club Management. I know I probably upset a few of them on occasion, but hey, I tend to do that to people, so I don’t take it personally, having gotten pretty used to it.
So with all that said, I should wrap this up and enjoy my month to reign supreme over TOCOTM land. I will do my best to humble serve and protect… Or something along those lines anyway. Go forth and do whatever it is that you do best…
