All right I'll stay.....look at what I found....http://www.carid.com/2005-pontiac-bonne ... er-covers/
I wonder if they will fit my GP?

Yes they have a Custom Carbon fiber finish. I was gonna get a B GXP, but I did not want the head gasket issue due to lack of skilled techs over in my area. If I had skilled tech I would've flipped the coin and let the gods decide. Besides guys we all now both cars that are kept clean and creeps are pussy wagons.

It will go out anyways even if I have a cooler. The one replacing it is covered under a "Warrenty Forever" deal. I am covered as long as I take care or regular maintenance. I do like the TEP second option tho....

Well, I'm back.

In a nut shell after 3 weeks of hell, the dealer asked me for the car back. This thing was a trade dump and needed major repair after i got it. I don't know or understand why cars break down on me, I drive like an adult and pay attention. I could go into further detail, but I think it's a waste. The car rode like a whore on country roads, guzzled oil like a drunk, needed a lot of wear maintenance done. Fhr funny thing is that the Dealer offered to reverse the deal and clean their hands.

Now I'm in the market for a N*. I'll keep my 2k Bonnie as my daily.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what "red flags" I can look for when shopping for a GXP? I also live in the Eaton, Ohio area if anyone is willing to help me.

the way I see it we all know that the N*'s start failing around 120k. Used N* for that year is around 3000. So or 3000 i'll have a new car with basic maintiance at that 120k mark.

Wasn't the GXP retail price around 38,000?

Not sure how far you are willing to drive. But I will have an 05 GXP for sale hopefully within the month. Have a new engine for it, bottom end and mid case completely resealed and inserts put in the block with new headgaskets done by Midwest cadillac repair. In process of swapping it.

Northstars have no definite life span. Some fail at 30k, 60k, 100k, or are running perfectly with 200k ok them. It's a crap shoot really. But once you get the issues sorted out they are still a lot of fun to drive and make a reliable car that get good mileage for being a V8.

Gonna start looking this spring with the tax check. If you can send pics, please do. i rather buy from some who actually takes care of it. Also, will the warranty transfer to me?

I noticed one thing that the GP GXP taught me is that it was not a cruiser, but a bruiser. I love to cruise... a lot. Some times I get in my 2k and just drive. Love the new struts and shocks.

Just read the GXP section. We've all posted this stuff repeatedly.

Either car, LS4 or N* are a PITA to work on. At least the Bonneville and N* have the stronger trans. But both have their service PITA's.

Yes, you've told me this already. I look at it this way. I have this forum (Bonneville Bible) to help me through my pain. I rather know what is coming and be ready than have it happen without any money.

All of you have helped me out a lot without knowing that you have. That GP GXP was a mistake AND I just recieved mail that my wife forgot to hand me this afternoon from the Feds. It was Lemon Law paper work....on the GP. I guess I dodged the bullet, huh.

I love to cruise, so the B GXP is for me. I can't find a car like it's style any were else except in a Caddy. This is what I mean for a cruise n' style,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2xsqvWhT8s

I think that the B GXP is just like this, a cruiser and a looker- period. Not made for burn-outs or racing. Just cruising in comfort.

I would have to agree. The Bonne is pure cruiser, and hands down one of the best highway-eaters I ever owned. I traded my 04 SLE due to nagging issues and tired of calling a tow truck, but all that aside when it was working it was stellar.

I have to admit there are days I miss seeing it in my driveway, and since I'm already having to adjust to V8 fuel mpg with my Hemi Magnum, dealing with a GXP couldnt be much different. Even the Hemi i have learned is prone to dropping valve seats if it overheats...not a dandy proposition and potentially more damage than head gasket.

I also agree this board is the single best resource for your Bonneville answers/needs...they never failed to deliver on anything I asked.

Best of luck on your search...I am haunted by mine.
