Rear Track Bar Replacement

Post by *B2* »

I felt a vibration in the rear of my 2000 SLE last week, and found what seemed to be a loose rear wheel. I pulled it up on the rack of a friend's shop to find no issues, nothing loose. Dropping it back down and putting weight on it, I was able to move the wheel enough to find that the rear track bar was completely disconnected. It stayed in place while driving fortunately. What is the best way to replace these? It looks like a real PITA with dropping the mount and exhaust etc... The bolts are fairly long and appear to hit the gas tank on the way out.

You will need to drop the rear of the subframe, but other than that its pretty simple. You don't need to touch the exhaust. Obviously, an alignment afterwards will be necessary.
