As someone who currently works downtown, I can vouch that downtown is okay. It's just everything between downtown and 8 mile that you need to avoid.

Agreed- Downtown is kind of nice really. It's once you get past that and into the potholes and burned up buildings.... that's when it gets a little sketchy...

Last year, we did a LONG loop. We started at Vinsetta Garage in Berkley (GREAT burgers!!), and went all the way to Campus Martius Park, turned around and headed into Pontiac for the rowdy crowd. It wasn't too bad even in the rough areas due to the amount of cars and cops.

The problem with the burn out pit on the south loop in Pontiac is, I can't do a burn out. :(

All my electronic stability control and traction control measures reel in all my fun. Even in Competition Driving Mode, I only get minimum wheel spin to allow for forward movement.

So it can be a little embarrasing when the clowns on the side of the road are harkin' "light 'em up!"

I think I'll be more likely to make the Woodward Cruise than the MI Meet this year, due to the proximity to other events. So I'm a tentative yes, lol.

Yes, I know. That's how I dyno it. I could also pull the fuses too. But I'm not gonna stop, crawl under the back of the car on the side of Woodward, unplug the WSS's, do a burn out, stop and reconnect them.

By doing either, I lose not just traction control, but stability control, competition driving mode, and ABS. I'd rather maintain my ABS and comp driving mode, than burn off my extra expensive tires.

Instead, I found a good rate at the Super 8 in Clawson, MI. It is also much closer to the action as it's only a little bit east of Woodward. It's a short trip down Crooks Rd. to get to 12 mile (where we have the G8 meet at the little shrine), or we can go north to Big Beaver and shoot over to Woodward where we meet with the Caddy V guys.

Well, as this draws closer some stuff has come up. I have jury duty on that Thursday, and I might possibly have a new job so I might not be able to be up there the whole weekend, but I'll do what I can to be there for some of it.

At this point in time, I may be out anyway. I have had some family issues and now it's a mess of getting everything sorted out and right now making a trip up there and spending $$$$ is probably not the best idea.
