Blown diff, stripped ring gear.
Is anyone familiar with how to remove the final drive ring gear from the 4t65e? Ive torn down the passenger side... Hopefully it is removable without gutting the poor thing. I have a new diff and output shaft for the old turbo beast. Hopefully she wont shred this one until i can fab up some mounts for a manual box.

Not exactly sure on the problem, but I see that that turbo has been getting put to use!

It was for a while... Then had to put it up for a few months because the diff literally shattered. Just driving normally up a hill and there she went.

you have to remove the pass axle, remove the diff to engine brace, and then the diff cover. Then the Diff and park gear can be removed.

Are you positive? I dont see any way that the ring gear can come out. I have the passenger side torn down the diff and such removed. The ring gear that the diff rides on has several teeth missing. Ive reefed on it pretty good, it doesn't budge.

oh gotcha I read Ring gear and thought Park gear. Unfortunally the entire trans has to be rebuilt to replace the ring gear the diff rides on. That is literally the first part installed or last piece removed in the Trans

I thought/feared thats what it would be. Oh well. I guess jits time to look for a decent trans, or 5 speed swap it.

with that turbo setup, I would hit up Dave at Triple Edge Performance, and get a good rebuild
