Coolant leak where upper hose meets engine block

Post by bonnevilleCyborg »

So my upper radiator hose failed catastrophically one day. I fixed it and put a new hose on and the new hose is secured with worm screws. Unfortunately, these worms screws always seem to come slightly undone, and coolant will leak out of them onto the exhaust manifold. What do you all recommend I use? I threw away the original "God's Grip" style clamps because I didn't think I could get them back on.

I use the same style. It was a pain but what worked for me was retightening after its all hot like when you get home from store or work.

But I've been retightening it, and it always seems to loosen up by 1 or 2 of those slot thingys. I think I'm going to get some of the clamps and see if they work, may have to eat some Gamma Rays and Hulk out to get them on.

I've never been able to get the worm clips to stay tight on those hoses, I've always gone back to the oem style clips. They're a pain to get on and off, but they hold things like they should be haha.

Or even putting a new worm screw clamp on. I replaced when I replaced hose.

The pliers for removing and installing the factory style "spring" clamps are fairly cheap and worth the investment.
