Moar Olds now with moar Bonneville
Apparently silver was a big color in those years, this will be my third. Ad says it runs (didnt check) panels are good mostly, rain rinsed so no rust, it will also be the third I have owned sold from the same dealership!
Haven't really assessed it too much, it needs a muffler and wheel bearing, and the pics are not current, interior looks nothing like the photo, but I might try to run it a bit if it will go. I won't be busted up if it pukes a rod or some other catastrophe, at the very least I have lotsa parts.
I'll get some pics up this weekend

Re: Moar Olds
Looks like a great parts car if it doesn't work out as a decent daily driver. If I had the funds for a full color change, I would probably do silver, as well. It doesn't show dirt too bad and it looks decent after it starts to fade. Cooler in the summer, too.
Are you going to try to use the seat? They look nice, but arent buckets, unfortunately.

Re: Moar Olds
The only plan for now is getting it home tomorrow, and the shakedown will determine what route I take on it. I NEVER see any LSS's around here and I have faithfully searched my local classifieds daily for any type of 88, since I'm sure somebody will nail my LSS one day, (so many bad drivers) and I don't think I could part with it very easily.
Edit: I previously raided and swapped a full interior from my previous LSS, so the seats are pretty good now.
Have you posted pics of your LSS? I don't think I have seen it.

No pics right now. I am too ashamed lol.
I might clean it up a little and take some pictures of the "good" side of the car.

Re: Moar Olds
The car actually drove pretty well the 20 miles to my house, apart from the bad hub up front, and the missing muffler, which is in the trunk. I think I'm gonna swap in the new hub (included) and run this NA bad boy. Gutted airbox? Check! I'll pull the LSS off the road for some suspension and other stuff I've been looking to do once I get this one up to snuff.
What a mess! I'll spare you the disgusting photo of what what deposited under the back seat, lets just say toys, candy, fries, garbage and goo was plentiful! It sounds crazy, but I bought it after walking around it only, never opened a door, lifted the hood, or heard it run. This car either spent a lot of time on the logging roads here, or the owner worked on some type of gravel site because there was at least a small coffee can of fine gravel and grit up front. The floormats have so much fine dust I quit shaking them after I noticed the cloud wafting into my neighbors yard. I didn't notice until it was beside my other car, but the color is actually a light brown tint, not silver. Oh and its filthy on the outside too!

I've still got another set of silver crosslaces to replace these gawdawful wheels.

The body is great with the exception of a ding on the top of the FR fender

And a couple smudged corners

I'll need some of these rear door rubbers, they're pretty shredded since crud really builds up bad in these, but this is the only rust I have found so far.

And I'm stoked to have spare lenses all around, although one rear has a medium sized crack.

Haven't really gotten into the RPO's yet, but there is no auto levelling or sunroof, and only single power driver seat, (seats 6) Ill post some interior pics when it looks a bit better.

Re: Moar Olds
Doesn't look too bad. That was the color of my Dad's 97 LSS. That color looks great with the LSS 5 spoke wheels. Hope you get it gpong soon. Take some pics of the progress.

Re: Moar Olds Now with moar Bonnie
I didn't take any pics, but I spent some time Sunday replacing the wheel bearing which was bad (hope I got the right one) and washed of what seemed like 5 years worth of pollen and crud which had essentially turned black. Lets just say I changed the water 3 times, it was really bad. Upon re-assembly at the front end I decided to throw on some rough condition laces I have which I had planned on cleaning up eventually, but they make the car look a lot better for now, IMHO. The car came on 15's, R60's up front and R70's in the rear!
Factoring in the included bearing this potential DD has cost me $420 and counting so far. Interior is next.
Car is unwashed in these pics.

Those wheels really help that 88. I almost bought a set a few months back and am now regretting not doing so. Looks great!
