Is this strange?

My doors automatically lock for some reason now. I noticed it yesterday when I left my car running and came back to get in it(Always keep a spare in my wallet) but yea, today I was just sitting in my car on the phone and my doors just locked themselves. My car was off and it probably happened between 10-20 mins of it not running. Is this common?

Mine used to automatically unlock the doors. Made for hilarious situations when a friend would reach for the handle and open the door, causing the alarm to go off (the computer still thought the car was locked).

Turned out my issue was a failing master door/window switch on the driver door. It got wet too many times. I just replaced it with a spare I had, and the problem went away. Can't say for sure if that's it, but at least it gives you a place to start.
