I need opinions

Post by Datbonneville1 »

hey guys, i have a 94 bonneville se. Im looking at summer wheels and have it narrowed down to these two sets.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/16-Grand-Prix-W ... 7326&rt=nc

Or these

Will the gp wheels fit my car without issue even though theyre 5x114 and not 5x115, and the hub bore will be the same? Please help me choose!

GP wheels have the same bolt pattern at 5X115 and both will fit the car fine. I once saw a photo of a 92-95 with the twisted GP laces and I loved it. My vote would be those.

I could never understand why wheels designed with a slant, or a twist, were not produced in versions for the right and left side of the car. To me, they just look backwards on the side where they appear to chop like a saw blade. Is just me I guess, but those "twisted laces" would look funny on the right side, good on the left. :dontknow:

I'd say depending on the color of your car, the gold wheels would look good.

carl, the gp wheels will fit over my calipers without spacers, right? because i had a problem with 15" lesabre steelies hitting my caliper so i just want to make sure they will fit without any modification and without spacers?

Green and gold never killed anyone. I mean, look how good green and gold is with the Green Bay Packers, lol.

Neither. Get a set of 2000+ chrome bent 5s or swoopies. Look on Craigslist and they can often be found for around $300 - $400 with tires.

I agree with you. But then you see those Lincoln Mark VIII's that have the directional wheels and people didn't give a crap and put the wrong ones on the wrong side and have 2 mismatch on one side that really looks bad. With directional wheels it also eliminates the ability of rotating tires side to side if need be.

Personally of those 2 options, I prefer the gold. Always thought the green Bonnie's with gold cross laces looked good.

Not sure where you are located but I have a minty set of gold cross laces from my 1994. Would rather not ship, if possible. Never seen salt so they have ZERO corrosion.

Stupidity is it's own excuse, of course. There was the time that the tire store guy mounted three of the "HydroEdge" tires, the same way. They had a directional tread, so one was "wrong side out" on my car. They had to flip it on the rim. Yes, those tires could only be rotated up or back on the same side of the car. Halfway through their life, I had the store flip them all, and swap sides. The Concorde they were for used the RF as the primary drive wheel, and it always wore faster than the rest of the tires.

Regardless of the Packer color comment, I still vote gold laces...

Green and gold crosslaces is probably my favorite color combo on the 92-95s.

You can get the twisted lace rims in gold as well. My buddy has them on his black 98 Grand Prix GT.

I always wanted the regular gold lace wheels for my green Bonneville. They look great on dark cars
