MPG

Post by BLKEB9006 »

From older to newer posts I've read, 20+ MPG on the highway is what we should see on an SSEi and is okay to start your modifications. Currently I'm only seeing 18.4 on a 50 mile round trip to work a day, all highway. I have done everything on the maintenance list and more, except o2 sensors. Always premium, 93 octane, tires are inflated, throttle body cleaned last summer, new TPS and IAC. Any ideas or suggestions?

Make sure coolant temp is 180-190 going down the road. Bad thermostat will kill MPG. That car should be able to hit 30 MPG reading instant MPG on the dash.

Did a coolant flush and a new thermostat before winter in August. If I put on cruise control at about 65 it's reading around 26 maybe.

Is this hand calculated or via the DIC?

Hand calculate. DIC isn't always quite right.

Check for vacuum leaks, and clean your MAF sensor.

From what I understand there's only 1 true vacuum line? Anyone have pictures of it maybe from start to finish?

Nevermind, found a diagram. Also found that the lines are not the issue. My AC compressor has a slight leak not sure if that would make a big impact. Haven't hand calculated the mpg yet but reset the DIC tonight and only getting 23. Highway speed limit 70.
