passenger doors jammed?

Hi, i recently bought -88 SSE. Problem is that both passenger doors seem to be stuck locked.
Outside open button feels like it could be loose from something.
Powerlocks wont work and I tried to peek inside little but cant get door panel off cause can't open doors
Any suggestions?

My 88' does that from time to time, just have to manually move the lock mechanism and work it a few times. I should just grease it but I'm lazy. Welcome by the way!

Way back when I had my '89 SE I had this same problem. There is a pivot on the inside of the door handle that when you push the outside button in it pushes a rod down to open up the door, this pivot point was all corroded, dirty, and basically stuck in the down position. The door would latch closed but appeared as though it was locked and trying to open it did nothing. I found that if I swatted the door right below the outside handle several times it would allow the mechanism to slide back into place to open the door, eventually I opened the door and disassembled it to get at and fix the handle.

What ryan said, my pivot thing was also corroded when i had my door apart.

Got front door open, yup pivot was corroded and icky. Got it working fine, thanks guys!

Good to hear. If it is used often it won't be a problem, but if it is rarely used it will happen again soon unfortunately.
