Blower motor blues

Post by 1964 Bonneville Ragtop »

Stumped like a chump: HVAC blower in 1996 SE, was recently replaced due to old age squealing; new unit lasts a couple of weeks, one morning no blower action. Swapped out blower motor under warranty but replacement has no air movement either. Combing through owners manual, and three areas of fuses and relays, I could find no listing or place for fuses directly protecting blower motor.

Any similar experiences with solutions to get the heated air moving again? It's cold outside, brrrr!

Welcome to the club.

I'm not an expert with the 92-99 generation, but I believe that they have a blower motor resistor which may be giving you issues.

If you have climate control, it is the Blower Control Module located under the hood in the top of the airbox. Over $100 now, i'm on my third one.

The module is sitting on the windshield wipers in pic #5. Not sure if 1996 is the same.
