Popping in for an update

Post by fisdadsbonneville »

My GXP has been quite the trooper other than that transmission ordeal shortly after I purchased her. When I moved to Florida at the end of August I put 2400 miles on her in less than 80 hours. She was fully loaded down, inside and out with bikes strapped on and everything I could squeeze inside of her too and she didn't miss a beat! I took her to the drag strip a few weeks ago and she runs a 14.9 on a muggy night. At this time I'm approaching 171000 miles and other than the slight oil drippage that doesn't leave any spots anywhere, it just burns off of the manifold if I sit still to long, Arya runs and drives as good as new! I added HID's in the fogs and low beams before I made the trip to Florida and since then I have not had to touch my fog lights again! Best money I've spent on this car so far. I drive with the fogs on all the time, so I was going through 3 bulbs per week or more before the switch. Also, my Alero project is in progress in Ohio. It should be ready to drive fairly soon. I can't decide if I want to keep both cars when that project is finished or sell them both in favor of something more bland... Well, that's it for now. Here is a pic from Friday after a wash.

Very beautiful GXP! May I ask what the project Alero is about?

Even with the stock Halogen bulbs in the fog lights, simply removing the moisture cover on the back of the housing will add a substantial amount of life to the bulb. I drove with mine on all the time too, and could go a month to two months on each bulb by doing this.

Who knew fog lights could be such an issue??

Glad to see her being reliable for you. She's lookin' quite good as well.
