Engine interchange...Long block

Post by Rebel25A »

Ok my 2001 SSEi spun a rod bearing, normally I would just kit it and go but I was quite aways from home when it started making noise and it really was hammering when I got home so I think I am just gonna replace it for now...I found a 2004 GTP with the engine intact but its in a wreck and has been to pirated to see how it runs...the mileage is also unknown due to the digital odometer...is this long block interchangable with the 2001...I know the fuel system visually looks different with its drive by wire throttle body...is the supercharger the same though

Swap the accessories from your motor onto the L32 from the GP, power steering and alternator. You can leave everything else, but will also need to swap the blower from the SSEi. The Gen V on the L32 would need to be adapted otherwise. However they are worth some money, so you can sell that and get some funds back.

Not sure if other mount stuff is needed but I'll let the other gurus chime in.
