Post by Jnegrea93 »

I have a 2000 ssei and I keep getting a code that says small evap leak but I clear it and it will be fine for a few weeks then it pops back on and causes a chek engine light. I was told gas cap but I wanted some input from te club first.

Nah, the gas cap is never really the problem. Is there corrosion on the filler neck? If its rusty, try cleaning it up. After that it is probably the purge solenoid or the vent valve.

No not really. When is the last time you had a tune-up? Plugs and wires? Oxygen sensor?

me and another member are having the same problems. and my new gas cap and cleaned filler neck havent helped any. personally im gonna get a vacuum pump from harbor freight and try and check the line, canister, and valves with it.
