trans shutters under acceleration
trans shutters under acceleration
if I accelerate from a dead stop any more than normal the car shutters from the drive train ..I was told it was probably the Pressure Control Solenoid that was the problem... and to try Seafoam trans conditioner first and then a filter and trans fluid change would be necessary and this MAY solve the problem ..its a 99 with 68000 miles ..any one use this stuff I don't want to make it worse than it is

Re: trans shutters under acceleration
I don't know about seafoam, but I had similar issues in my car which stopped after a bottle of Lucas Stopslip.
I'm guessing the car has never seen a trans fluid change at 68,000 miles. If I were you, I'd do the pan drop and filter change, and put a whole quart of Stopslip in the new fluid. Make sure you do not have the trans flushed! Just a regular pan drop.

Re: trans shutters under acceleration
Shuttering is usually from clutch packs getting thin but stop slip will fix it for a while. When i replaced my diff my clutch packs for 1st were getting thin and should have been gone by mid summer but mine are still holding up fine.
Re: trans shutters under acceleration
thanks I'll drop the pan and try the Lucas this weekend

Sounds a lot like the PCS( Pressure Control Solenoid ) is going bad...
Like stated I would change the fluid and filter first... If it still does it you may need a good diagnostic from a trustworthy shop..
