The Secret is out...I bought a car from the Toyota dealer...

Post by SingsCountry1967 »

When I bought Crisis Management (00 SLE)...she was 5yrs old and had 31k miles on her....to me, that was a New Car. Now she has 95k miles on her and I love her dearly, but I deserve a new car...and I was going to sell her, but I am figuring out how to keep her because I have always wanted to own 2 cars. And my daughter will need to buy a car in two years... and... well... yea... so I will rent her out to a family member who needs a car.

So...I thought to myself (after extensive research on new vehicles)..."self, you want to find another smoking deal only better. You want to find a car with even less miles, and you don't want to pay full retail for it, and it has to be sexy and stand out from the norm."

Think it...Believe it... Visualize it... and you will get it.

Following my instincts...I was led to a Toyota Dealer....and found this.........

I believe if it was Supercharged, it would say on the side next to the SS which is interestingly absent...

I know that L36 SS got the script that said "Monte Carlo SS"

LMAO.... no I wasn't looking for a Toyota. I was attracted to the lot by a wildly painted PTCruiser (nothing I wanted but I realized they had more than just Toyota's there) ...and found this snug in the middle of their used car line up.

No, to my mild disappointment this is not the supercharged version... Cody is right that they say "supercharged" after the SS. I'm not sure which year Chevy changed and put the V8 in them... but this was before that... So I have the 3800 Series II just like I am used to.

And yes, part of my negotiations was that they do a radiator flush and replace the DexCool with the Prestone Dexcool-compatible :beerchug:

And both the salesman and the finance dude complimented me on my knowledge of cars ...to which I gave the credit to all of you guys and the club!

LMAO! Yes, I'm sure it would make it out there... but I'm not sure I would make it again, especially if by myself. I supposed if I drove out there and didn't feel like driving back, I could always just stay there.

Monte Carlo never got the Series III, and neither did the Impala. Base engines were the 3400, then the 3800 Series II in either natural or supercharged form. Her not having the supercharged engine might actually be a blessing for her because of the fuel.

Tracy, get that rear wing off of there and get the proper spoiler for it...otherwise known as the "ducktail" spoiler. It looks worlds better than the flatwing you have now. That's an excellent looking car you got there girlie =D>

congrats on the purchase. I figured you wouldn't stray far from the 3.8L.

I think you'll enjoy that one a lot. And the red looks awesome.

Congrats on the new car Tracy! With <18,000 miles I say you definitely got a great deal! My parents had the same car, except it was the dark red. They traded it in early this year for a new black SS with the 5.3 V8.

Good Buy, Tracy!

I'm not at all surprised that you went for the brilliant red car, lol.

As to keeping Crisis Management, I suspect you won't regret it, as long as it gets driven regularly while off DD duty. You should get another 100K on it easy, since you take good care of it.
White Horse. 230K miles, It just keeps on kickin'
