www.rockauto.com if you use online/mail order. If you go local, NAPA or your locally owned parts store. Here, where I am, it would be XL Auto Parts. You would have to check around if you choose not to use NAPA. - BC

A 94 does not have the common upper intake issues that the 95+ does with the EGR passage. What issue are you having?

Re: I need help!
My upper intake leaks from the gasket where it meets the lower intake. only on cold start though, once it warms up and gaskets expand, it stops. But i wanna just tear it down and do the upper and lower gaskets.

People rarely have to replace a series 1 upper. I think RJolly did. PM him and see what he got and what his thoughts are.

Re: I need help!
There is no gasket from the factory between the plenum and the LIM on a '92 L27. Can't speak for later L27s, but there is no part number from GM for it for any L27 Series I. The only part number is for a gasket between the LIM and supercharger on a L67 Series I. I know 'cause I chased that ghost for 6 months. - BCJ Wikoff wrote:People rarely have to replace a series 1 upper. I think RJolly did. PM him and see what he got and what his thoughts are.

A 94 has a plastic upper and I think there is a gasket.

This was my thread on my round. The UIM I selected seems to be holding up fine so far, and came with the needed upper rubber seals.
I also say to port while you are in there. I was frustrated by the time we got down in to the engine, and scrapped porting/dremel work, but I have heard it wakes the engine up a bit.
Also be aware that I had the exact symptoms you are describing, only I put it off much too long. Also count on replacing the bypass fitting if you still have the plastic one in there.
You will also see a couple of pics in my thread. The UIM gasket is more like a rubber seal, and is orange.
My opinion? Plan on replacing the UIM. A chunk of plastic sitting on top of a hot engine in a hot engine bay can't be in the best of health after 20 years. Do it, do it right the first time, and you will be doing it for the last time. I haven't heard a peep from mine since, and it's been 2 years.
I think the era of us Series 1 guys pointing and laughing at the Series 2 guys replacing manifolds may be over.
Also, if anything else is giving you trouble that is hard to get to, make a note of it. When doing this job, you will quickly have a lot of access to a lot of things.
