Correct cold start idle speed for a 1996 Bonneville SE

Post by SSEBonne4evr »

Can someone look at their cold star idle speed for me next time they start up.

My 96 SE recently started to rev about 2k on initial start up and I am puzzled why.
All sensors and throttle plate were cleaned when I did the intake gaskets in March.

Maybe the TPS is going out? Or injector leaking?

Idle comes down to normal almost immediately, but acts
like you are holding the pedal 1/4 way down on start up.....Weird.

1200 here. Returns to just under 1000 at 2 minutes.
462 cubic inches of REAL Pontiac power.

Took a second look, its doing 1500 at cold start up then goes down from there.

Just sounds like it races, maybe its normal.
